Apr 22: Earth Day Medicine Wheel and Tree Welcoming Ceremony. (Children Welcomed) Wednesday, 6:30-9pm. (Ceremony preparation begins at 6:30pm, potluck dinner at approx. 8pm. The Earth is our Mother and she’s facing great challenges from us two leggeds these days. Join in a Native American based ceremony in the Mesa Medicine Wheel to acknowledge, thank, honor, and pray for Mother Earth and Nature. Together we will raise consciousness about how Humanity has become out of balance with our Mother, and set an intention for healing ourselves and the Earth.
This year’s festivities will also include a ceremony to welcome the newly planted maple trees that have just appeared on The Mesa. After seeing so many trees cut down for gas well pads and pipelines, it is important for us to celebrate and bless these new arrivals.
Please, bring a covered dish to share for a potluck dinner inside The Mesa immediately following the ceremony. With Brad Silberberg. Your donations are appreciated and help us continue our work at The Mesa. Please RSVP if you’re coming, 724-947-3097 or email brad@mesacreativearts.com .
Be advised that classes and events at The Mesa have largely been curtailed after the passing of my wife and Mesa Co-director, Kate Silberberg, who died on 5/15/13 after a heroic ten month journey with pancreatic cancer. You can read about her story on our Mesa Blog.I am still teaching privately and doing healing work with clients and would be glad to make an appointment with you if you call or email. Thank you for your patience and your prayers.

March 20: Spring Equinox Medicine Wheel Ceremony.(Children welcomed) Friday, preparations and ceremonial smudging starting 6:30pm, ceremony starting 7pm MT (“Mesa Time”), pot luck dinner afterwards inside The Mesa, approx 8pm..
The spring equinox (6:45pm Eastern Daylight Time in Western PA) is one of two times of the year when we experience nearly equal amounts of daylight and darkness and are presented the lessons of polarity. It also marks the end of the yearly zodiac cycle and the beginning of the next as watery (snowy! icy!) Pisces gives way to fiery Aries.
As is the case with all equinoxes and solstices, the very nature of this celestial and earthly alignment focuses transformational energies on us, building a couple of days before and lasting a couple of days after the maximum. This equinox is an opportunity to reflect on the dualities within ourselves and the world around us and use its “booster energies” to jump to a higher level of conscious living.
The emerging spring is the season of New Beginnings and the planting of seeds. It is a time to decide what kind of “seeds” you wish to see sprout in your life, and what attitudes, intentions, and energies to sow in the world around you. This year there will also be a new moon and solar eclipse on the equinox, (at 3:41am local time and not visible here) creating additional and powerful spiritual portals for transformation as the sun (spirit), moon (soul), and earth (body) align.
So… Had about enough of winter? Ready to “come out of the tipi”? Join with others in the Mesa Medicine Wheel for this equinox ceremony to acknowledge and honor the cycles of Nature, connect with Spirit, give thanks, and ask for help. We’ll also send healing to Mother Earth as she rubs her eyes and awakens from her winter slumber, and energetically align with the arrival of spring.
Please bring a covered dish to share for a pot luck dinner inside The Mesa after the ceremony. (Approx 8pm.) With Brad Silberberg. Your donations are appreciated and help us continue our work at The Mesa. The Mesa Gift Shop will be open before the ceremony from 4-6:30pm, and after dinner. Please dress appropriately for outside as we will be standing out there for 45-60 minutes, weather permitting. Please RSVP only if you’re coming, 724-947-3097 or email brad@mesacreativearts.com .
